About Us
Mossy Creek United Methodist Church is a traditional Christian church that embraces the orthodox beliefs set forth in historic affirmations of faith like the Apostle's Creed and the Nicene Creed. Therefore, we believe in a Triune God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - three persons, yet one in essence. We believe in God the Father as the Creator of all things, and in Jesus Christ as the only Son of God. Through his life, death, and resurrection, we believe Jesus atoned for humanity's sinfulness and provided a path to salvation for all who believe in him, repent, and make him Lord of their lives. We believe the Holy Spirit is present and active in our lives and in the world, offering God's guidance, grace, and strength for our journey toward sanctification and our quest for perfection in love of God and of our neighbors.
As a result of these beliefs, Mossy Creek is a Christian family bound together by our dedication to growing as disciples of Christ. We believe that by living as witnesses to the world of how we have been changed by our relationship with Jesus Christ, we might change the world - one person and one life at a time. Mossy Creek supports this growth of discipleship by:
1. Offering people a place where they can draw close to God in regular worship, praise, song, prayer, proclamation of the Word, observance of the sacraments, and study of scripture.
2. Seeking opportunities and activities to build a loving community in our church.
3. Feeding lambs and tending sheep by sharing our resources with those in need.
